Well the good news is that the cap was lifted! but for some reason this has caused my noise margin to reduce greatly!

      new stats:
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 237267 451047 0 0 0 7:23:28
      LAN 27 0 0 0 0 7:29:36
      WLAN 461216 244978 0 60 52 7:29:09
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13256 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 31.5 db 15.9 db
Noise Margin 6.9 db 11.0 db

my top speed is now much better, but i have noticed that when i am downloading e.g. using newsgroups my speed fluctuates allot at regular intervals! e.g.
heres a pic of my wireless network monitor, before the cap was lifted i would max out the connection and the graph would stay at the top the whole time now it spikes up and down.

Well thats great. Yes your noise margin will be reduced, you have traded it for more speed, thats why it was important to increase the margin as much as possible before calling Sky.
The best thing now is to leave the router switched on and let the line settle, Merry Christmas. The net work monitor may well show variation, don't worry, just leave the router alone and all will be well
