Make sure you have filters plugged in at every socket in your home.
And yes, plug everything back in and go through things with the Sky operator in technical when you go through to them.

Now we are getting somewhere. As you realise, all extension telephone sockets should be dead with the faceplate of the master removed, and only the test socket should have a dial tone. Before you ring Sky, try and find out how the extension is connected. As I have said, there is no point in phoning Sky if you have internal wiring problems.

      Re: broadband max, speed halved?

thanks, but the one thing thats puzzling me is that i still have a dial tone from the extension when the faceplate is removed!
shall i try and remove the ring now? as i dont think sky will encourage me to do this over the phone will they?

      thanks for all your help!

thanks, so basically the faceplates off and there are no wires connected to it, the only wires are in the gap in the actual socket in the wall, there are 2 green, 2 black and a blue wire going into the socket but nothing at all connected to the faceplate!

Dont unplug or disconnect anything. Plug it back in and await information from the Sky rep when you call tomorrow.

Right, you need to find out if the extension has been incorrectly wired to the terminals at the back of the master socket. how do you feel about a bit of rewireing?
