Normally there are two iMacs, and a vista laptop.

Currently I'm on the laptop, wired directly into the router.

      Connection is intermittent at best.

Connecting using airport on the macs. Have avg running on the laptop.

Ok so with the laptop i take it that you can connect to the router ok ,
Its just the internet connect that drops out on you ?

And as for the imacs can you connect to the router with them both wireless and wired ?
Testing with the wire will at least tell us if its just a wireless issue with the macs .

Exactly right, the connection to the router is not an issue, it's the internet connection that keeps dropping out/failing to connect/going at snails pace. I now have the desktops connected to the network again, that was just me being silly.

I've connected one of the macs with with the ethernet cable, and it's working okay, but the connection keeps dropping out, same as on the laptop when that is connected with the cable. When it is running, speeds are faster wired than wireless, but that's just common sense.

Ok thats good then so you can connect wired with all the systems but not for long and you cant connect using the wireless with the macs i take it ,

Ok can you log in to the router page and get some of your line stats and post them ,

You need thigs like your sync speed attenuation and the noise levels .

I can connect wirelessly from the macs, it's just very slow, even though they both show full signal and have been fine in the past. Haven't moved anything or changed anything.

I have also noticed that the connection is much quicker when I am using the landline phone, although still not at the speeds I had previously.

Obviously the phone is connected to that filter in the test.?
Do you have dial tone on any of the socket when in the test socket?
Could you post the stats when on the phone ?

Sorry for all the questions just need to build a bigger picture

Yup the phone is plugged into the filter which is plugged into the test socket.

Those stats are taken when on the phone, I'm using it right now.
