      please? anyone help? because im reliant on this connection as im a ict student that downloads massive files... and i cant do it atm because its too painfully slow...

      oh btw i got a reply from sky saying " its been sorted " which is just taking the ****

      You have been capped! All you can do is call them and ask them to remove it.

      well just phoned them

      have good news and bad news.....

      good news speeded up a bit

      bad news my target nm is 9db , ive been capped and i aint happy because i want my 2.5mb connection back not this...

      They obviously think you line is not stable enough to give you any more. Give it a day or so and ring them again. Ringing at a quiet time on the line, eg 2.00pm on a week day, might get you up a bit, but it might mean your line is unstable and starts dropping the connection.

      its been fine since AUGUST .... no D/C wot so ever...

      ok man ill ring again at 2pm on wed maybe...

      something very strange is happened....i used my old modem... not wireless really old i brought it in 2004 for my old bt broadband... and i plugged it in entered the sky login details i extracted from my netgear router bobs your uncle im on the internet... then i went onto speedtest.net now before you say it i know its not reliable... but anyway i did a speedtest and i got the result above!! 2744kbps.... exactly or near to what i used to sync in at! but strange thing is my modem is saying i synced in a 1920kbps... like what the hell... how does that work!!

      strange!

      oh and btw this modem is real good my actual attenuation is 63.9db

      as in the first quote i will say it is unreliable , as in your last quote, if you are synced at 1920 you cannot get speeds of 2744

      i know... dunno wtf went on their lmao.... i ran a speed test and reached 2744kbps... i think i now have proof its very unreliable!
