Limits are actually on a rolling basis, and is started from your activation date i.e if your connection starts 15th november, its a month from then, not the start of the month

But you are right in saying that Sky are'nt imposing any punishments for going over the limits at the moment.

Unless he spent a fortune and paid for the music, you could also be prosecuted for downloading copyright material. Also remember that upload counts as well so if you have not included that, you could well be over the limit.
Normal surfing, like viewing this site, uses very little. Playing games can use 25-40MB an hour, depending on the game I think.

he definatly paid. he has been known not to in the past and I've made it perfectly clear that he ain't to do that on my connection again!!!

Only game I play online is Tiger Woods on PS3, and only played it an hour or so.

Chances are I will be well over this month month, but never been close before!!!

If it's a one off you should be ok, may get a letter or email asking you not to do it again or to upgrade the package if you want a higher limit. If it continues you may get a more pointed contact from sky lol

I can't see what VM have to do with Sky. It is well known that the BPI are reporting users for downloading illegal material, some members have already received warnings from Sky.
