Very slow speed with Sky Mid, help needed please...

      Hi guys,

I'm new here, the house I've moved into has Sky Mid BB but I've took a look at the router and I'm getting 320kbps downstream and 416kbps upstream.

I've also ran a speedtest and get the following result...

I've took apart the master socket and ran the router directly into the test socket and the downstream speed according to the router drops to just under 300kbps.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to resolve this?

      Cheers...

You need to post your stats from the router settings page, SNR, downstream, upstream and noise margin.

Is that in the test or normal socket? Can you plug into the test socket with a filter, get the stats as above then plug into the socket as normal (filter onto socket, router and telephone into filter) and post a comparrison set of stats?

Cheers for that, what can be done about this then?

I'm new to Sky BB as I only moved in here just over a month ago.

you need to give Sky a buzz, go through first line support and have a word with CST and they'll be able to uncap the line...

call on 08442 410515 and follow options for technical support...

Nice one, I'll do this, is there any particular reason as to why it would of been capped?

Re: Very slow speed with Sky Mid, help needed please...

Issues on the line, DLM, many things. Go through to tier one, ask for slow speed troubleshooting, make sure you are on the test socket with a new filter if possible, they will put a ticket in to CST and try to get you through to them directly. If you are on sky talk dial the 08442 number as above and you don't pay for the call, if not on Sky talk its not overly expensive but the choice to queue or not is yours.
