      Poor speed, Router Statistics

      Hi all.

Apologies for making my first post here a question but I'm having trouble with my line speed. I used to be able to get 12/13mb/s. About half a year ago it fropped down to around 8 and became very unstable. Sky dropped me to d.gmt and my line was stable again. I was busy at the time so I didn't pursue the loss in speed, but it's starting to get to me now

I've posted my router statistics below, if someone could give me a hand, and point me int he right direction it will be much appreciated. Cheers.

      Re: Poor speed, Router Statistics

      Come on someone please.

We have now tried plugging the router directly into the test socket with only a marginal increase in SNR. Sky did try removing our cap but our connection went down every 5 minutes so we're bak on D.GMT.

It's really annoying seeing as how we used to get 12mbit+

      Thanks

      What router are you using?

Can you get stats from the current position and also the test socket. You only just seem to be holding a connection according to those stats.

      Re: Poor speed, Router Statistics

Can you plug in the router supplied by Sky? The stats from your TI router are taken in a different way and few here would be able to interpret them, that is probably the reason you did not receive many replies to your original post. Many of the users here know the Sky routers and can interpret what is wrong.

Looking at those stats its not a 100% stable either, a NM of 5 on the DS. Try from the test socket and post again.

      Re: Poor speed, Router Statistics

I am sure that you can see that there is only a Sync of 6976kbps, so now way your are even getting an 8mpbs sync. We will need your sky router stats to get the best idea, as every router report stats in a different way so the figures are not comparable. But as a hint, you would get more speed based upon that attenuation from ADSL2+.

Maybe your phone line is deteriorating in quality, do a silent test, this is done by dialling 17070 then select option 2.
