      Very slow Sky Max

I have a friend who is on Max, but has been complaining to me that her connection has been slow for a few months when watching Youtube videos, streaming music etc. I just got her to do a speedtest, and these are her download speed is 320Kbps and her upload speed 314Kbps, which seems pretty slow. Any advice on what to do about this?

Cannot really offer any advice without seeing the router stats and knowing how the router is wired etc.

What stats do you need to see? And what do you need to know about how the router is wired?

      Re: Very slow Sky Max

You need to log into the router and get the detailed stats from it so we can check the noise margine etc. It is also essential that the router is connected to the phone system correctly with the filteres in the correct place.

Have a flick through some of the other speed problem threads and you will see the details that are required to diagnose.

If it has been like that for a few months it may well be another line that DLM has left in a poor state. The router stats will tell.

Is this what you want? Or is it something else? It was working fine, great speeds for ages, then this sorta happened out of the blue a few months back, and it hasn't ever been fast since.

      Re: Very slow Sky Max

You need to call BB tech support up, those stats are rubbish. Ask to be troubleshot for slow speed, that will get you to CST who can lift that cap. Make sure if possible you do the following before calling.
      1. Change your filter
      2. Plug into main or test socket
      3. Remove any extension leads in use
      4. Try to be on ethernet
      5. Reboot the router
      6. Call tech on your landline

These are parts of the troubleshoot and doing them prior to calling will help.

Yes, I think this is another line which DLM has 'destroyed'. Do as Paul suggests.
I think the 6% which was quoted as the percentage of lines which did not benefit from DLM must be creeping up now. How many others, with little knowledge of how broadband should perform, who are in the same position, is anybody's guess.
