When i was on bt i always got 4.5mb's but since i've gone to sky have had various issues constant disconnects which has now been sorted with a new router(the white one).
I always find cst helpfull and last time i phoned(2 weeks ago) he said i should be getting at least 4mb and checked the exchange and said there was a fault there he got something changed and that stopped the disconnections but not the speed,am sick of phoning them now as it cost me a fortune.

Have tried the test socket but no difference any suggestions please.

Back in January you were getting a reasonable speed using the Test socket. Please plug in there again and post your stats here.

Then it looks like your external line has developed a fault as you appear to be syncing as high as possible. Any noise on the phone line?

No mate no noise on the line thats noticeable this has been mentioned a few times but if theres no fault on the line will bt do anything?

Just been onto bt they said they cannot find a fault but said they would send an engineer out but if they find no fault with the bt equipment then there would be a 115 call out fee so i said no.

The only thing you can do is keep pestering Sky until they get BT to check the line. If you pester them enough they will probably send you another router then if that does not help, eventually get the line checked.

Re: Slow speeds please try and help

Well after many calls to sky bt engineer coming out giving my line a clean bill of health then back on to sky they tinker with it make it worse and say there is nothing else they can do but to put me through to cancellations so just waiting for my mac code and to give o2 a try.

Many thanks for all the help you guys have given

      Final stats:

The only way Sky can increase your attenuation is by putting ADSL2+ on your line. This has the effect of increasing it by about 3dbs. Looking at the first stats you posted in the link above, you were on G.DMT. The upload speed in the first post in this thread seems to indicate ADSL2+, so it is possible DLM has run on your line and left it in poor state. The last figures you post seem to indicate that Sky have put you are back on G.DMT. To be honest it is difficult to say whether the problem is due to ADSL2+ being put on your line and messing it up, or whether your line has developed faults. Although BT say they are none, that does not mean this is true.

Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to try another ISP and see what they can do about it. O2 seems to be the popular choice at the moment.
