2shay has said that there are no fixed extension sockets, but there is a plug in extension, so he has connected directly to the master and still has poor results. He has checked for line noise, and the line is clear. So what to do next?. Just to be sure it is not the router could you swap it with your mate, just to see what theres syncs at, or could you take your router to them and see how your performs on their line?

where abouts did u get this iplate im in soton and see you are in gosport
Don't waste your money. The iplate is only useful if you have hardwired extensions. You don't have any so it will do absolutely nothing. Apart from this, removing the wire from terminal 3, as previously suggested, gives the same result and is a tenner cheaper.

If your line comes in overhead you might want to have a look around for junction boxes. If you have any have a look in them for any sign of corrosion or loose wires. Also check that your line is not damaged by rubbing on a wall or tree.

Re: Slow speeds please try and help

I have just moved to Sky and and a poor download speed. I have been informed that all phone connection boxes should have a filter on. This didn't have an effect for me though. What did have move my download speed from 3mb up to 10.5mb was by disconnecting all wires from my phone connection boxes EXCEPT those in connectors 2 & 5, even those that are in boxes that are unused (they did affect my speed). The other wires act as an aerial which causes interference increasing noise and I noticed your noise is quite a bit higher than mine. I hope this helps and good luck.
