      Outlook 2003/Sky email problem

Hi Ive got Outlook 2003 and have 3 email accounts in use with it; I have my sky account (imap), my university account (imap) and my aol account (imap).

they all work fine when i recieve a message, but when i reply to a message from my account other than the sky account, it replies with my sky email for example, if i recieve an email in my aol account, and then click reply (and specfically say i want to reply back with my aol account) it replies with my sky account email, its like it switches the reply email addresses over and hence when i receive a second email from a person it goes to my sky account.

i am sorry if this sounds confusing (its messing with my mind too!) but can anyone help me please? Thanks

I'm afraid that is how the sky/google smtp server works.

It will always add your sky address as either the reply to address, or if you have registered your other address's then the sky address will be added as "sender".

If you want an alternative SMTP server see here.

OR (assuming you have 'proper' email accounts setup) when you click on reply, to the right of the send button, it'll say account. it'll from the default address unless you specify otherwise...

      Re: Outlook 2003/Sky email problem

hi thanks for your reply, am i correct in saying that skyuser.co.uk host their own smtp service which is outgoing one and allows people to send emails without the service changing your email address in the reply box as it is doing with me at the moment?

i have applied for the service, by the form and have added a username and password and given my sky user name. does anyone know how long this service takes to activate?

      thanks

We normally set the SMTP accounts up within 24 hours.

      When did you apply?
