loss of wireless conection at 8pm ish!

hi everybody, anybody any thoughts on why at 8pm ish every night i loose my wireless conection? i can conect via the ethernet cable but not via wireless! this lasts until the next morning and everything is back to normal but from around 8pm the next night my wieless conection is gone. any advise? also sometimes my wireless conection will still show up with excellent signal strength at this time, but again unless i plug my laptop into the router with the with the ethernet cable i am unable to conect. thanks in advance, patrick.

I know it sounds daft, is there anything in the house that comes on at 8pm, ie Central hating etc? Could possibly be interference.

You are probably suffering from local interference. It can be caused by just about anything from your central heating turning on to the cat lying down in it's basket. You could try changing the channel in the router. It could be a neighbour's router which is interfering with yours. Just start at channel 13 and work your way down. Remember it takes a few minutes to connect after you click the Apply button.

Change it! Auto does not always work too well.

Remember if you have to reset your router for any reason, it will reset it to Auto. Rebooting/Powercycling will not effect it. Glad your fixed

      Do you need to? No.

But you might save a few pence per year if you do.
