Re: How to Block World of Warcraft
Are you trying to stop someone from playing it?
If you haven't opened any ports for it, then they should be blocked by default for incoming.

Re: How to Block World of Warcraft
Possibly UPnP is doing the required port forwarding? If so then it needs to be turned off in the router (log into router and untick UPnP then apply).
However, you'd only need port forwarding if you were hosting a game wouldn't you? For just playing the game, the router will allow incoming in response to outgoing requests from that LAN IP. In that case then you'd need to set up a service in the router designating that port then create a firewall rule to block it.
But then could the person running WOW then just use a different port (not familiar with WOW port requirements)?

You need to give us more info. What exactly is the problem and what do you want to achieve?

Re: How to Block World of Warcraft
go to 192.168.0.1 and login
click services -> add custom services
enter following information;
name = WOW
type = tcp/udp
start port = 3742
finish port = 3742
click apply
click firewall rules
under outbound services click add
enter following information;
service/name = WOW
action = block always
lan users = any
wan users = any
click apply
under firewall rules ->inbound services delete any services which are for WOW or world of warcraft
click UPnP and TURN OFFLast edited by skypaulusplus; 22-10-08 at 10:29 PM. Reason: cleaned up

Re: How to Block World of Warcraft
Or you could cancel the WOW account & stop paying for it.
It will soon stop itself.
