      Re: Router Firmware Updated.

Hi.. I have the new firmware noticed that connections is alot better, these are the changes i have noticed on stats.

      before...
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4851 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 50 db 15 db
Noise Margin 8 db 19 db

      after update
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4755 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 49 db 29 db
Noise Margin 7 db 21 db

noticed a big change in Line attenuation on upstream is this normal? and a drop in downstream Attenuation?

you'd probably get a bit more being on gdmt as opposed to adsl2+...

Hi.. do u think it would be worth phoning them up and asking them to change it over? Will sky switch it over or will i need to say im having issue's?
i was on gdmt then DLM switched it over to ADSL/2, after 20 day DLM, it went back to GDMT and dlm capped me to 2.5, when i phoned CST switched it back to ADSL/2. im not to techical.

      Re: Router Firmware Updated.

i reckon you'd see 5Mbps at least on gdmt...just call and troubleshoot for slow connection - you ideally need to get to CST straight away as you might get 'auto-regraded' but give it a go...if you're happy with what you got then don't risk it...

i do notice that noise margin... is normally between 5-8, will gdmt make the stats better and will it hopefully increase speed...

      Re: Router Firmware Updated.

it'll only change if you're set to 416kbps and on adsl2+...not otherwise...

      Re: Router Firmware Updated.

Yes i should have said 416 not 412,i thought it would solve the problem that after some dropouts, the upstream has been 160 and can cause a problem with the connection, and by asking for the rise from 384 to 416 can eliminate this.
