the SNR now suggests you can't get higher as 7 is the SNR it'll connect at best speed...

best to plug into your test socket and then call back and this time you might get a helpful tier 1 agent to pass you through...

      and now:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 9786 kbps 414 kbps
Line Attenuation 18 db 5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 18 db

so...have they started this 10 day thing again.. where they are trying to find my top line speed, i have a feeling i wasnt on the adsl2+ service, cos when i asked and she checked thats when she came back with the 'improved speed'.

better than nothing true, but im determined to get it higher.

Sky run there equipment in 2 differen't modes. G.DMT and ADSL2+.
G.DMT dosen't support 16mb I think it goe's up to 10 or 11mb but Sky normally cap it at 8mb. They use it for people with poor quality lines. I think you may have been put on it in error, or maybe there is actually a problem with your line or wiring. Either way you will need to somehow get through to second level support to get switched over to ADSL2+.
Perhaps if they wont put you through then asking to be put through to the cancellations dept might help you get put through to the techy's.

PS: There is no 10 day training period on MAX package, think they are fobbing you off mate.

Re: Im so close...whats with the slow speed!

When the Master socket faceplate is removed, are your other extensions dead? If they are, it looks like your internal wiring is in very good condition. Check your external line for noise, it looks like there may be a fault on it. Plug a corded phone into the test socket and dial 17070 option 2. It should be very quiet with no snaps crackles or pops.

If the line is very quiet, then it could be a dodgy card at the exchange which is causing the problem. Very difficult to get anything done about something like this.

There is something not right with your line.

Are you connected via the Test Socket?

This seems like too much noise and then your connection resyncs?
      Regards
