All I can suggest is that you try WEP security. To do this go to the Wireless settings in the router and select 'WEP' as the security. Type a phrase or word into the Passphrase box and click Generate. This will give you keys in the boxes below. Make a note of these, remember they are case sensitive. Remember also to click Apply

Now go back to your PC, change the security to WEP and put in one of the phrases you generated. See what the result is now.

      hello, this now works.
      thanks for all your help.
I understand the WEP is not as secure as WAP, but if this is the only way that it will work then i can live with that.Once again thanks for your patience and help

      Re: unable to connect wireless

As a little bit of extra security you can use the Access List in the wireless settings. This in theory prevents any device not on the list from connecting to the router. Like WEP, it is not infallible, as a determined hacker can overcome it. Another thing you can do is give your PCs/Consoles static addresses and turn off the DHCP server in the router. Changing the IP address of the router will also make it a little more secure. These precautions will stop a causual 'piggy-backer', but stopping a knowledgeable and determined hacker really requires WPA with a very secure key.
