    connection hanging help??

    This is a discussion on connection hanging help?? within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; not been to the forum for a wee while with any problem but recently my connection seems to be hanging ...

      connection hanging help??

      not been to the forum for a wee while with any problem but recently my connection seems to be hanging my broadband speeds seem to be rapid at one moment then die away then next web pages while loading seem to be hanging and taking for ages to load up what i have done so far

      1. contacted sky they increased my upload speed to around 750
      2. they regraded my line was told my line went out of sync
      3. they have done all manner of tests on my line using master socket con
      4. sky are now sending me out a new router

      latest problem as of yesterday my connection on Wednesday i was able to download about 7mb on thurs my connection dropped to under 1mb even though my router said i was sync at 8mb speedtests from different sites confirmed this yet my router says i was still sync at the higher speeds do
      i have a faulty router here is my stats

      you don't have a faulty router - are you wireless? also, look at changing your DNS servers as Sky's are a bit flakey...OpenDNS

      also, best remove the majority of those stats - you're giving out your IP address...

      click the 'statistics' button at the bottom of the page you took them from and paste those instead...
