Go to - SkyUser - Tools and Tutorials and copy and paste your result here.

You may be getting mixed up with KBps and kbps.

Re: slow speeds in speed tester & fast in router status????

OK - wireless would have been the most obvious cause but that's ruled out. Also the Skyuser speedtest is pretty reliable so that rules out an overloaded speedtester. Your stats look fine so a line problem doesn't seem likely.

That only leaves a problem with your exchange equipment (unlikely but possible), your connection suddenly doesn't like ADSL2+/something has gone wrong with your SkyBB profile, a problem with your PC or a problem with your router.

Taking the last first: is the router very hot? Is it sitting close to other electrical equipment? Routers sometimes just play up. Try powering it off and then on again and see if things improve. If that doesn't work, power it off for at least 10 minutes (to cool down) and then power it back on again.

If the router seems OK that just leaves your PC. First off just check your TCP/IP settings are OK by using the tool described in the second sticky in my signature. As the problem has only just started I doubt that's the problem but you need to check. Next up would be to update the drivers for your network card.

Try those things then post back.

      HTH

EDIT: just thought of possibly the most obvious thing. Your router is syncing at a high speed, your speed (test result) is low. Therefore something/someone else may be using the bandwidth. First off make sure that no other devices are connected to the router i.e. other users on the LAN or another user using that wireless connection you say you don't use but have on. Then check that you don't have any legitimate bandwidth hogs such as Sky Anytime/BBCi download player running (if you have then in the case of Sky anytime you can't just stop it, you have to uninstall it).

Any better? If not then it's time to check for malware. Download and run something like Adwaware or Spybot. Use an on-line virus checker such as Kaspersky or Panda.

Re: slow speeds in speed tester & fast in router status????

If you have the DG834GT you could go to MelsNotes, scroll down and run the router speed test.
      Mel's Notes: Dg834gt-1skuk

A higher speed here will indicate the fault is with your PC, a similar low speed would indicate a router or exchange fault.

If it is your PC, try starting in Safe Mode with Networking and try a test from there. A high speed will indicate something is running on your PC which is hogging the bandwidth.
