They closed the fault , had to go through teir 1 to get to CST , got there and they have reconfigured my line to the following with max delays set @ 16 for up and ddown stream , never knew max delays were ajusted both upstream and downstream oh and he put me on ADSL2+

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4474 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 55 db 16 db
Noise Margin 8 db 10 db

But i cant help thinking the problem will still return this evening hopefully it will not

Tech did say he will monitor my line till he goes home @ 5.30

      Indeed .

I thought also if an Openreach engineer calls and finds no fault i would get charged , seems i'm not being charged for the visit ! cant complain thou

Brian69 , If the stats hold i'll give it 48 hrs to be safe then i'm happy no leaving threats etc but if the problem continues i'll be putting myself into angry mode :P

      Re: Sky have done something

If the fault is on the line, and instablity returns tonight, you will start on the, router replacement, speed capped. process. It will be a while before Sky will pay Openreach for a visit.
As an example, before I retired, it was not unknown for customers of most ISP's to go through all this a few times before a visit fixed the fault (normaly a split pair, or broken cable somewhere) The last Sky customer I saw had a small pile of six Sagem routers, and was sure we were all in the pay of the Devil and had it in for him.

      Re: Sky have done something

Its returned approx 18.30 , no drops yet , snr not going anylower than 1 although this is changing very rapidly like before and browsing has become arrrgghhhh slowwww

Connection Speed 4474 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 55 db 16 db
Noise Margin 2 db 10 db

Suppose i will have to call Tech again and go through the norm with tier 1 just to get anywhere near someone who can help
