thing is - BT always leave SNR around 10 (mine's 11 most of the time) and pestering Sky to do more is likely to lead to issues...I'd leave it alone tbh...

      Re: Connect

Well it seems like someone at Sky has flicked the switch and my BB is now free!
It does not matter how many switches Sky flick, they have no control over your connection. This is entirely down to BT.

Try doing an official BT speedtest, this is more accurate than any of the others and it will show your Profile, which governs the speed you can get. To do this - Go to BT Performance Tester enter your phone number then your ADSL username. This will do an official BT speed test and show your present profile. Your ADSL username is <the LAN MAC number of your router, no colons, followed by> @skydsl You can also obtain this from the router by using one of the utilities available on the forum.

You should be able to use this report when phone Sky, but it will depend on who takes your call as Sky Support do not seem to be trained for Connect customers. This tester is always busy, it could take several attempts to get on.

      Re: Connect

My profile is set at 1750kb which is about right for my current sync rate.
If I were to approach Sky, would they be able to increase the sync rate, perhaps by reducing the SNR, or is that only for LLU lines?
What other possibilities are there to increase the sync rate? (dont tell me to move house!!)
Sorry to keep dragging this on, just want to explore all avenues to get the best from my line.

      Re: Connect

Sky can do sweet FA - ALL they can do is possibly ask BT to adjust the SNR to allow a higher sync but that might then go pear shaped...

As IANTE says all they can do is ask, and then go ahhhhhhhhh, pear shaped. You should be fine on what you are currently on.
