      I could really use your help with this,

      I'm on the MAX (16mb package)

      When my router attempts to connects it gets a different speed everytime (from 700kbs to 1088kbs). If the connection is over 850kbs then it drops after 5 seconds. Then it waits 60 seconds and retries. This process will go on until it attempts to connect below 850kbs. This can take upto an hour.
      I asked them to cap the line at 4Mb but I don't know if they did it.

      If I connect to the main phone socket I get 1088kbs EVERY time but it NEVER authenticates and drops off. The tier 3 guy was watching this happen several times and didn't know what was causing it

      If I connect to the test socket it sometimes connects at 2400kbs (which is what i'm supposed to get) but it never authticates because it's over 850kbs

      It's as though the lines capped at 900kbs

      PLEASE HELP!

      noise mar 9db (varies between 8 and 11)

      I'm desparate for some advice

      Hi tech support

      My connection date was the 11th September but I still have no connection despite 10.5 hours on hold to speak to tier 3.

      My current set-up is:
      Tried all three filters to elimate faulty ones
      Filter plugged directly into master BT socket
      No dial-up internet or answer phone service on the line
      Router flashes amber every 5 - 10 minutes but never switches to green
      Have rebooted computer and router too many times to count
      Had a brief 3 hours of broadband connection last Sunday night after turning on the router with my fingers crossed and eyes shut. But have not had a connection since.

      Tier 3 have raised two tickets for BT but I have had no update on this progress. The first one two weeks ago was not picked up by BT and I am unable to get through the tier 3 to check the current number.

      Please help me, any suggestions?

      I'm thinking of locating the exchange and camping out until I see a BT engineer.

      Tech Support,

      I know that this may not be your area of expertise, but do you have any idea on the time scale it takes to rectify a tie pair fault at the exchange?

      Provsioning cannot give me a date - they guess 7 to 10 days. Do the Easynet engineers have an SLA that they work towards. Is this an Easynet or an Openreach problem.

      Any help/advise would be appreciated.
