Well done SkyTS for helping people on here, its nice to see. I wonder if you could take a quick look at my Stats [attached PDF] to see if I need to call support or BT, or even simply stop moaning and fix it myself

I'm hoping to identify where my best connection is, but to be honest I'm confused as to why the line reports 8000kbps but browsing maxes out at around 4000kbps on a good hour, 900kbps on a bad.

      Password

Hi SkyTechnicalSupport, I have received my username and password and have tried to access the SKY webpage and it loops. I know there is a problem with the page at the moment and it has been going on for sometime.
What I want to do is access my emails from outlook, I have enetered all the details as instructed on the site ie pop.sky.com stmp.sky.com etc. I have aslo eneterd my username and password that I received from SKY. When I test the account it fails and I am unable to access my emails.
The question I am asking is do I need to have a password reset done and do I contact Techsupport to do this?

      Welcome to the site Smudge

You will be unable to access anything until your live with SkyBB as thats when your username and password are activated so you will have to be a little more patient.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Hi TS, quick update,
Been getting speeds of between 640kbps & 1200kbps for the last 24 hours so rang TS today and as with many others he raised it to Tier2 [48 hours] as all tests were inconclusive.

Disable wireless & use patch lead -
Download Speed: 1229 kbps (153.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 339 kbps (42.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

      Enable wireless -
Download Speed: 1204 kbps (150.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 374 kbps (46.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Strnge thing is I was hitting 5000kbps on 1st day of SkyBB & regularly hit 1800kbps with Pipex on 2mb line...

Who knows, not me for sure?

I am after some help as this is really starting to do my head in....... and i haven't got much hair left to lose so anychance someone could kelp pls......
The story so far is I went on the sky broadband approx a week ago (21/09/06) and everything was running perfect I was connecting at 15323d/l and 764u/l, that was until a couple of days ago. Since then I lose my connection every few minutes and there is no pattern to it what so ever it is totally random. I have tried connecting wirelessly & wired and each of the disconnect equally, I have spoken to sky who has done the usual stuff, it was even escalated to 3rd level tier who tried to find a solution he even tried downgraded my line speed at the exchange down to 10mb download and 764upload which has had no affect what so ever (bit p***d off he downgraded it).
Is there anyone here who is who can anyone offer help or solution please before i pull all my hair out?
      thanks
      Tazz

re: that was until a couple of days ago.

Can you remeber if you changed anything around that time?

Seems odd that it works ok for a week then stops. Usually problems appear very quickly. I take it sky did not offer a replacement router, perhaps you are the only one that may need one

No changes what so ever had been made (didn't even restart), I was bobbing alone nicely on 16mb line and then hit a brick wall it got so bad at one point my connection sppeds were 636up and 346down...
That was why I was hoping that could maybe try my own netgear router.
