Can assure there ARE extra LED(s) behind the panel front which do NOT have masks to a symbol on the front panel. Dim room lighting if necc, and look thro the ventilation holes...there's usually at least one on between the tick and the wireless indicators.....I have my wireless turned off usually (the ultimate wireless security setting!!) which makes it more obvious, but it is easily detectable.
I have one on permanently.
What it does (they do?) is another issue!!!!!

try connecting to the box with an ethernet cable, and turn off the encrption. this can be found on the router page, and then wireless settings.
then disable encryption on your wireless adapter, reboot everything and see if your connection is any better. then its an ecrption issue. if it still doesnt work, fone the call centres and ask for a replacement router, say ur wirelsess isnt working, and see if it happens on the new box.

This is a question regarding my connection I have had a nightmare as Wheelie knows I got special treatment so I was told by BT because they put me back into their queue for my exchange and was meant to be connected Friday just gone and as of yet nothing but I phoned today and spoke to TS as was told to leave phoning TS until Monday PM but am sure nothing is gonna happen tomorrow.
The reason I ask as last night my i light was out and has been ever since and have been on dial up since Wednesday.

There is always hope!!!!!!
have had Sky BB since 14th of Sept.
1) the Cd that came with the router won't progress past the "lets get started" bit. i have asked for a new disk but ............. nothign has been sent and a call to support today has told me that "there is a delay" can anyone help?
2) because i'm a bit of a fiddler i have manually got the service running however
the internet connection light drops on the router every 7-8 mins and then blinks amber etc and eventually reconnects. i have checked the micro filters and read most of the threads on this site. i was not on broadband before sky. when its connected the speed fluctuates but thats not my concern. this happens whether i'm hard wired or wireless(which is a bitch to setup i might add).
please help me

Welcome to the site bazzarman
There is nothing on the CD that you need to install to make your internet connection work and unless you want to install the mcafee security software and a link the the SkyBB web site and a help file then you don't need to rung it.
For you internet dropping problems go and have a look at the stickies posted in the Sky Router (Netgear DG834GT) forum above you may find a few answers to help.
That looks like good news, lets hope that can expedite things and get your mess sorted out asapRay
