      Question Slow speeds!

Hello I have just recently got connected with sky after all the hassle with receiving my router!

      My stats are as follows;

      Account Name
      Firmware Version V1.02.28

      ADSL Port
      Network Type PPPoA
      IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255
      Gateway IP Address 82.108.11.89
      Domain Name Server 87.86.189.16

      LAN Port
      IP Address 192.168.0.1
      DHCP On
      IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pB018e.d16f
      Modem Status Connected
      DownStream Connection Speed 8604 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 766 kbps
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

      Wireless Port
      Name (SSID) SKY*****
      Region Europe
      Channel 11
      Wireless AP Enabled
      Broadcast Name Enabled

      =------------=

      Statistics
      ----

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8604 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 48.5 db 26.9 db
Noise Margin 6.7 db 10.0 db

I only live just under a mile (as the crow flies) from the exchange.

Once I setup the router (2 days ago) I got a speed of 1.5mbps.

Now it is up and down like a seesaw one minute it's 1.5 then 6.5!

I dont get why? Any suggestions!

      Scott

do you mean its 1.5 then 6.5 judging by speedtests?

or does the sync speed change?

if its speedtests, try other tests or download a large file from a ftp server.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Try This;
      Optimise Your Computer!

Then reboot... Do a speedtest again! Have you tried,

      Replacing Microfilters etc etc...
