      Best Speed Expected

      Hi,

      I was wondering if someone could tell me what is the best download speed I could expect with the statistics that I have attached below.
      I am on Sky Mid Package

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 1536 kbps 416 kbps
      Line Attenuation 62.0 db 31.5 db
      Noise Margin 7.9 db 13.0 db

      you 'could' expect 2-3Mb.

      Have you tried the TEST socket underneath the BT Mastersocker faceplate?

      Moving the router down to the test socket and setting up the computer is not an easy task.

      That's a shame. Only way to get the best is by having the router connected to the test socket (even if it means having a loooong ethernet cable from router to PC).

      I have ny router next to my front door and then some external grade cat5 going from teh router, outside of the house and around the walls and then up the wall and back thru a hole in my room upstairs.

      With those stats you should be able to get about 2Mb.

      Definately check the TestSocket.

      Get a couple of homeplugs, that way you can put the router by the master socket and the PC anywhere else you want without running a load of wires.
