Dunno to be honest, I would have expected the auto migration to kick in as soon as a slot becomes vacant but I don't know how that side of the sytem runs. Pressurising sales or CS may be the way to force the issue with them on this. At the very least you should ask about a discount.

I believe the term used was "hoikked".....
On the case with SKY now, will keep you all posted.

Perhaps this thread should be sticky, because it looks like there are other subscribers having same problem. They need to check the exchange, and demand other packages if SKY network is available.

Re: Slow connection only at night

      Hi all,

My issue with SKY is finally resolved. After numerous calls to the customer/technical service, I was getting nowhere, and was promised the world that they will call me back to reslve the issue, which never happened.

Anyway, I have written a formal letter to Sky, stating that I am paying for a sub-standard service (Connect) when SKY mid/max are available at my exchange (my neighbour is on mid), and I demand cancellation based on the terms and conditions. I also copy the letter to Ofcom for reference. Few days later, customer service called me and advised that my package will be changed to Sky Mid.

To date, my connection had been around 5mb day and night, with no further issues.

To all the people with the same problem, please read through this post, because there are informations available to check if you have been placed in the wrong package (Sky connect) when other Sky packages are available in your area.

I also want to thank to all the people helped and advised me along the way, so that I could the the result I wanted.

Thanks again, and good luck to all!!!

      Best Regards

The current result is as below:

Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed
Date of Speed Test: 2008-11-13 22:06:12
Download Speed: 4137 kbps (517.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 230 kbps (28.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

It is much better than 200kbps download at evening time before

Stats may be useful, your upload seems a bit low.
