Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, to get Sky BB you must have an active Sky TV contract, the cheapest of which would be 17.

Provided you have the cheapest deal, and your exchange is Sky LLU enabled, you should be able to get TV and Sky Base (upto 2mb) all in.

      Re: existing user

As per the terms, that would cease the broadband as well.

Sky Broadband: Minimum subscription 12 months. You must subscribe to Sky TV to get Sky Broadband. If your PC/laptop is not wireless enabled you can buy the necessary equipment from Sky. Wireless coverage depends on variable factors within the home. Monthly usage limits: Base - 2GB; Mid - 40GB; Max - Unlimited subject to Fair Use Policy; Connect - 40GB. MAC users receive 12 months free McAfee VirusScan worth 19.99.

      Re: existing user

If you can't afford Sky TV then unfortunately SkyBB won't be right for you.

An alternative you could consider would be to move to O2. They offer pretty much the same BB packages/prices as Sky for existing O2 mobile customers. To qualify you need to be either contract or PAYG (top up 10 every 3 months I believe). As an alternative to Sky TV consider Freesat. You'd use the same equipment you currently have (box/dish) together with a Freesat card (one off cost of 20?). This gives all the terrestrial channels plus a number of others - similar to Freeview.

with a Freesat card (one off cost of 20?)
iirc The Sky card would revert to this on cancellation of the Sky TV subs, saving 20.
