Did you get your stats and connect to the Test socket as advised by NR in your previous thread? If you did please post your stats.

yes there are taken from the test socket. we have always been connected to the test socket

our old stats with tiscali were around 7128kpbs and 484kpbs

so theres a problem with sky as it is slower than tiscali

      Re: Some Problems regarding Broadband

If the faceplate of your master socket was damaged, there is a good chance that the test socket has also been damaged. This may not show up on your voice line or even with slower broadband, but Sky's offering requires a very good line to function at it's best. It would be advisable to replace the existing socket with a new one. As you say BTO want a small fortune to do this, but apart from their T&Cs, it is a fairly simple DIY job. Replacement line boxes can be got from eBay or from a supplier like Run-it-Direct If you decide to go this route, get an ADSL faceplate at the same time.

Yes Isitme is quite right, get yourself a new NTE-5 master and filter faceplate.
If you are handy with a soldering iron, they are quite easy to repair, but replacement is the best course of action.

Noise Margin 3 db 10 db

Your noise margin is pretty low, this would be the reason for intermittancy.
You want your d/s SNR to be 7 or higher.
Lower than this can cause CRC's and when you get too many it can drop off.
So yea prob a dodgy socket or loose cabling.
