Re: Are sky now throttling connect?

Well if what you say is happening, then I would change my opinion about how the way Sky throttle their Connect product.

It's just I have never heard of it off anyone I have spoken to, and I am pretty positive, that we would have had hundreds of posts about it on here.

Maybe they have just implemented it, or as mentioned, a problem with the other router?

Re: Are sky now throttling connect?

I've been on Connect 19monthts or so, this is new.

I'm just saying, Sky have now started to throttle connections that download a lot.

And it seems to be on username or router mac address basis.

Quite sad, as i may have to change ISP

I have no reason to stick up for them. If you read other posts that I make, I can be highly critical about them.

And for absolute Clarity - Sky pay us absolutely zero directly. Although if you were to click on one of our affiliate links, we could possibly get commission, although so could anybody else if they too had affiliate links on their websites.

On the throttled username and password, maybe worth setting it to the non-throttled username and password.

      Worth a try

Well if this is true, you are the first person to report this, therefore we will know in the future.

No one is saying that they don't believe you, just a different reason is also possible. ie the original router.

If you were using too much B/W or taking the mickey out of the download limits, it is my understanding that you would be informed.

BuckleZ - take the logins from the 'slow' router and put the into your backup router and test again...would be interesting to see what happens...
