      newbie help

hi guys i have came across this site a few time and used it very resourcefuly when solving issues with my sky setups lol

now i am a full sky customer- full sky package , HD package , phone and broadband MAX.

i moved from AOL to sky i have to say ive had no issues with sky boradband but i have one hella slow connection

      416kbs !!! 0.4MEG

i dont want to go onto customer services and give them abouse , surely this connection speed can be upgrade by sky as i am playing for upto 16MEG they could atleast give me 1 lol

anyone got any ideas how to improve this or what can i say to sky or any info would be great.

      cheers

The stats from the test socket will show us hopefully if you have any wiring issues.

      Re: newbie help

Are you quite far from your exchange?

Is that definitely from the test socket behind the master socket?

Do you have any extension sockets? When you are connected to the test socket (with the faceplate removed) are all other telephone sockets dead.

      Re: newbie help

Are you sure you are on MAX? The 412 upload doesn't look right (MAX should be 768)

It is possible that Sky have capped you and hence the low speeds. I will have to bow out and let others suggest any advice.
