      Yep, looks like your problem is internal wiring, check the cabling/faceplate section for more info.

      anyone got a diagram to show the wiring on the master socket as i cant put up with it like this anything is worth a bash now to help my connection

      new stats from router show just how poor it is

      Carry out the following.

      (1) Get a filter faceplate (XTE-2005 from ADSL Nation or BT one from Run-It Direct)

      (2) Check that with the test socket exposed, all other extension sockets are dead (no dial tone) I know you said you did this, but check again to be sure.

      (3) If you can, move the router to the master socket and connect to the filter faceplate. Connect router to PC with network cable or mains adaptors (homeplugs). Use wireless as a last resort.

      (4) If you cannot move the router then run a new extension from the filter faceplate to the router position.

      Filter faceplates come with full instructions on how to fit them so you should have no problems with it.
