Red face Please help ! :(

I have had Sky BB since i moved into my new house, after previously having great speeds and stability with BT BB im not used to everything going 'pear shaped' i have really had enough

I Do Not live in a LLU area so unfortunatley im paying top for sky connect untill my exchange is upgraded,- bummer.

      having been told this i have been told i can reach speeds up to 2meg and thats awsum for me! my sync rate atm is;

      DownStream Connection Speed 1696
      UpStream Connection Speed 448

which I am also happy with (Y)

      so... all is well.

my problem u ask?- I can go around 3-4 days with this sync rate and p[retty much same d/l rate. having the download/upload meter I can also keep a close eye on my connection which hits around 160kbps on average-

Today I turn on my computer to see that the sync rate is only

      DownStream Connection Speed 293
      UpStream Connection Speed 104

:O- o well ill jus reboot (Y) when i reeboot i get my good sync stats back wooop how ever my speed tests tell me different and my download/upload meter scrapes 16kbps

Sky are sending me a new router... hope it helps.

what do you guys think? if they send me a netgear hopefully I myt be able to controll my SNR?

believe it or not my download speed has gone back to normal in the duration of typing this message :O still not good, i want stability grrr

      all replies are apreciated (Y)

You don't say how long you have had Sky BB.

If less than ten days, this would be normal, as the exchange is trying to attain the best speed it can give you.

Sky give no extra information to Connect customers, which they really need to get the best from their connection. Have a read of this article from Plusnet which deals with the same package as you are on - in particular what to do in the first 10 days. If you are over the 10 days, your Profile may have to be reset. This can only be done by BT on a request from Sky.

lol - I do try and read as many threads as possible. Although sometimes I miss some of them.

Hard to say, try posting your current stats, see of it sheds any light.

Just wait for the stats experts to come along now, hopefully some advice can be given.
