      lots of strange connections

hi folks sorry to bother you but the problem is this - i have been away for last 3-4 days and during that time i had the modem turned off i came back today turned the modem back on. now im seeing tons of connections to bb.sky.com whenever i load mozilla firefox windows live messenger or even DAP!!

anyone know what this bb.sky.com is because ive never seen it before

could it be sky checking the modem and firmware because the router has been off for some time?

      guysteruk,

Could you clarify please what you are seeing. By this I mean, what is contacting said address? Where are you seeing this?
      Regards,

      Ahh, right.

Hmm, not sure what that may be to be honest. It wouldnt normally show that up due to DNS servers I would have thought....

Ill have to do a little digging, unless anyone else knows off course.

      Re: lots of strange connections

Try netstat /b this should show which application is calling up the connection. netstat /f will show where the connections are going.
I have not noticed anything like you describe, but I use OpenDNS which may make a difference.

      Re: lots of strange connections

      Nope -
-a : Displays all active TCP connections and the TCP and UDP ports on which the computer is listening.
-f : Displays fully qualified domain names.
      - & / are interchangeable.

Ooops, I have just realized this only works in the Vista Command Prompt. I was fairly sure you would not be wrong and had a look on my XP machine, the command is not recognized. Strange
