Doesn't disconnecting the orange wires at the master socket automatically disables it at the extensions as well? I will just try both then :P

You only need to disconnect the ring line at the master.

Re: Is the speed I am getting reasonable?

Well I am signing off now as its time to take the rubbish out etc :P
Thanks all for the kind help. I will try to troubleshoot the current setup and try to reduce as much interference as I can. Might consider the filter faceplate if I am really in the need for speed. Heh.

      Good night everyone!

Final edit : Well I tested with the orange cables off and all the max I can get at the master socket and the extensions is around 9.2Mbps (according to the modem statistics) Oh well, looking on the bright side, 9megs for a tenner with unlimited d/ls is not that bad

Re: Is the speed I am getting reasonable?

I just got off the phone with Sky BB tech support. Had a nice chat and he put my line through CST (?). He said that due to distance the max I could get is around 9MBs. He had my line reconfigured so it will stay stable at this speed. I get 9.2MBs from master socket now and around 8.6MBs from extensions.

I guess thats not bad, at least I cleared things up and made sure I wasn't capped or anything.

as long as you're happy with the speed/stabilty for what your paying, that's all that matters.

Well, I would have to admit its a big jump from what I was getting from Virgin. Just hoping that they will a) cable my area or b) activate my exchange for 24MB in the future. Though I must admit for general use its not much of a difference. (Except when multiple users are downloading files etc)

Of course, I will hang around and try to offer any help/opinion if I can! This is a very nice community.
