      External BT line damaged?

I keep getting major drop outs when it's raining, is this normal? I believe the BT cable coming into the property may have been damaged by some falling branches, is this something I would need to contact SKY or BT about? Thanks.

      Re: External BT line damaged?

Depends on who you pay your line rental to, if you pay BT line rental you call them. If you pay Sky line rental you call them. You will however need to prove the issue is external and not internally located.

If you are with BT they will run some tests on your line and might send an engineer out to have a look. If it turns out the issue is outside of your property then they will not charge you, if it is something inside your house then you could be charged.

I can't speak for Sky as I am not with them for my phone.

      Re: External BT line damaged?

      BIG NOTE,

When contacting BT DO NOT MENTION BROADBAND PROBLEMS!!! If you do they will refer you back to your provider (ie Sky). Tell them you are having phone problems (voice conversation).
