      Hi

I have noticed that my connection speed figure is much lower than I believe it should be - it used to be 5.5mb!!

Could there be a reason for this ie Sky capping me or something

      Any suggestions would be great
      thanks

You aren't on Skys equipment if you are on Connect, you are on BT and yes they do cap people.

You should be getting the full wack. Have you got a socket in your house similar to this?

This is very low for your attenuation, you should be syncing at over 8000 and downloading at about 7000kbps.

If you have an NTE-5 socket, follow the instructions in the link in the previous post and post the stats from there. It may be a bit of a hassle moving your PC close to the Master socket, but believe me it will be worth it.

If you are unfortunate enough not to have an NTE-5 socket post back for further advice.

I wish I did, but it is the old style socket ie no test socket

I have been trying to get someone to change it for me, ie master socket, but not found anyone expect enough to do this job for me and as I am in a wheelchair, I also could not attempt it

Don't mention BT, as they will not help, unless I pay 160

I really think it is about this socket, but until I change it (already have purchased socket and adsl filter), then I am stuck!!

      Thanks
      Simon
