      BB up and running

      stats extn socket

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 160 kbps
Line Attenuation 42 db 12 db
Noise Margin 28 db 7 db

      stats with master socket

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 41 db 12 db
Noise Margin 30 db 13 db

Not sure what up with Upstream speed

I want to upgrade to bb max should i wait and see how these stats improve or these stats will be pretty much the same.

any rough estimates on ETC for bb max order?

      Thanks for the help guys

      Re: Max 512KB line speed

With your attenuation you will be very unlikely to get much over 8-9MB with Max, if Sky will put you on ADSL2+. You would be better going for Mid, you figures indicate that you should get very near the full 8MB. The only advantage with Max would be the unlimited download and a slightly faster upload.

Your figures indicate that there is some interference with your extension, you should fit an ADSL faceplate to the Master and work from there.

      Re: Max 512KB line speed

ideally you need to get CST to set it @ 416kbps...you may find you have browsing issues otherwise (it's a bug with the Netgear Phase 2 routers - will hopefully be fixed with the iminent (sp?) Phase 2 FW update)

however, you'd see at least double that on Mid should you wish to upgrade...

apologies for being ignorant but what is CST?

I will be happy with 8-9MB bb, do i need to request ADSL2+ or it happen automatically?

The Customer Support Team, who you will eventually get to when you get past the script readers on Tier 1 support. You will have to request it.

personally a cap on the line might be in order, but keep an eye on it initially and you should be ok
