      does this look right?

      hi

just got connected to max today and my stats are as follows:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10332 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 32 db 7.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 12 db

my downstream looks a bit low to me with these stats or is it due to dlm

also i currently get a 60-64 ping to my cod4 game servers, would changing the max delays improve this

      thanks

      Cam

You are on ADSL2+ and it does not look like your line is capped. Have you checked at the Test socket to see if your internal wiring is reducing your speed. All the information you need is in this part of the forum -
      Cabling and faceplate help

Reducing the delay can also lead to a reduction in your stable speed. It would be better to check that you are receiving the maximum possible before asking for your delay to be reduced.

With a good clear line you can expect 12-14 Mb.

      hi

i don't have a test socket to check from.

but i have checked all the extensions connections are ok (i have 2 proper bt extensions but only use the one and the master socket) and also at the same time removed the bell wires and are now getting the following:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14119 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 31 db 7.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 12 db

      thanks for you help

Good, it is sometimes amazing the difference removing the ring wire makes.

      Re: does this look right?

I'll say removing the ring wires maked a difference to my connection speed, as before when i first connected to sky broadband i had a 6Mbps connection which was very intermittent completely cutting out at night. But when i disconnected the ring wires the speed jumped up to 10Mbps and is stable day and night.

Who would have thought that a few wires could make such a difference to speed.
