      tesco to sky broadband

      im going to change my broadband from tesco to sky, does anyone know what steps i need to do, and is it worth doing

      All you need to do is phone Tesco up and tell them that you want to leave and ask them to give you your mac code. Then contact Sky and give them the said mac code. Make sure you write it down correctly if they give it to you there and then on the phone, if you are unsure ask them to repeat it. When phoning Sky make sure you inform them what product you want to go on - Base, Mid or Max. If either of those are not available in your area then you will go on Connect until they are.

      Stats are your present connection speed, attenuation and noise margin.

      Follow the instructions on this page to check availability in your area-
      Sky.com - Sky Products>Broadband>Switching to Sky>Postcode Checker

      At one time they had an actual line checker, but this seems to have disappeared in favour of a post code one. Don't tell Tesco you are leaving until you get an activation date from Sky, getting a MAC does not constitute notice of leaving.

      You will probably be better off with Sky, as it will probably be faster and cheaper, provided you have Sky TV.

      yeah and if your near the exchange too!!

      if your not that dont matter you still get pretty good speeds!

      obtain a MAC code from tesco and give it to sky its not the MAC code on your router
