Re: Can Only Connect With Static IP Address

Did you try reseting your router? Is it only one device that has stopped accessing the Internet or are their more?

I have one laptop that I connect using a static address because it seems to be more stable with that particular machine, however others connect using DHCP without a problem. The trick is to use a static address that is unlikely to be needed by DHCP so set it to something like 192.168.0.99 with submask 255.255.255.0 and Gateway 192.168.0.1.

Re: Can Only Connect With Static IP Address

using a static IP network has its merits, as you know what each IP address is you can then block it if required - handy when you have a stroppy teenage son not doing his homework or tidying his room

Edit: Do you have any other device on the network that has a DHCP server built in (like some NAS drives / enclosures) - this could be causing a conflict !
      Cheers
