      Bit torrent issue

      Hey,

I was previously with virgin cable, never had any problems apart from their crap speeds for their prices, anyways since the transfer from cable ethernet to wireless adapter i've noticed two serious issues :

1 - If my pc is on standby / im not interacting with it the pc crashes (only occursed since installation of sky)
2 - Im having problems with my Utorrent (bit torrent client) according to it, all the ports i've tried are blocked, i've allowed u torrent on my firewall, even disabled my firewall to fix this, however it is still not working.

Does anyone have a similar problem, and know how to fix it ?

      Pc details :

      XP pro
      Q6600 Quad Core
      Asus P5N-E Sli
      Gf 8800 gts pci-e 512mb
      4 x 1gb ddr2
      2 x 500gb sata-e 2 hdd

      Re: Bit torrent issue

Sorry just to clarify, are you connected to the Sky router using a wireless connection. If so is it possible for you to connect via ethernet cable and see what happens then? Is your router configured correctly to forward the traffic to utorrent either via port forwarding or uPnP?

      Re: Bit torrent issue

Did you install using the supplied Sky CD. All this does is run a set up movie and customise internet explorer. Do you know what wireless adapter your running, i.e make and model.

Also see this website for port-forwarding, this will explain how to set up port forwarding on the Sky Router. Am i correct in thinking your using the Sagem model? Port Forwarding for the Sagem Fast2504

      Re: Bit torrent issue

I am using the netgear wg111t, and it was set up via the installation disk.

I've ran the portforward stuff and found thaty id doesnt work.

For some odd reason, my downloads work and then stop.
(sometimes ports work and sometimes they dont"

      Re: Bit torrent issue

Using the wireless adapter may have given your PC a different IP address, which would not have the port opened for it. Check that the address of your PC is the same as the one which has the port open.

Have you tried using UPnP? I can't remember offhand whether there is a box to tick for this in the uTorrent client.
