      Connection halved & no help from Sky

      I was connecting at around 10500 & getting regular speeds of 8000. About 4 weeks ago this suddenly changed, connecting at 5500 & speeds of 4000. Spoke to Sky - not DLM, tried several things with no luck. Said they would send a new router & a nice shiny V1 router was sent to replace my Sagem.
      Results even worse.
      Called sky last night & again several things were tried. Apparently I was capped as my line would only accept 5500!!! She proceeded to uncap me but no change to speed.
      Several speed estimators say my line should be capable of between 10000 & 12000.
      The girl was adamant I could never have recived the speeds I was talking about (perhaps I was in a parallel universe).
      After confirming I was still on LLU & on ADSL2 she said there was nothing further she could do.

      Anyone offer any crumbs of comfort.

      I am direct into an ADSL nation faceplate & nothing has changed whatsoever at my end other than the halving of my speed. Stats are all good & indicate there is no apparent issue with my line.

      At work at present, will do it later, but can confirm stats completely unchanged prior & post drop!! From what I can remember the attenuation is 38.0 downstream.

      another thing you should be able to do with the white router is use "mels notes" and get the detailed stats (have a search for mels notes, the link is here somewhere)

      you may just as a check need to take off your ADSL nation socket and do a comparison set of stats form the test socket (its rare for the ADSL socket to become faulty, but worth checking out)

      Sorry, thought you had said they sent a white replacement. its just that using mels note you get a much more detailed look at whats going on
