      Outage in Stevenage Exchange

      last night at around 7pm we lost internet connectivity - done all the usual things swapping filters, test socket and re-boot router - still the connection light was amber. - 40mins on hold to Customer Tech Support, and was told that there was a not on her screen of a technical issue at the Stevenage exchange and engineers were in attendance.

      Came down this morning and the connection light is still amber - but Easynet server status page reports no issues, when I checked from work.

      Can anyone shed anymore light on what the problem is and when it might get fixed, I dont fancy another long call tonight (costing almost 2) just to be told the same thing - would of thought that 12 hrs would be long enough to resolve these sorts of things unless Sky Engineers only work Office Hours !!

      I can confirm the exact same thing in Stevenage.
      When I rung up late last night I got an automated message saying that they were aware of problems throughout the East of England and engineers are on site working on it.
      I've got a friend in Welwyn Garden City and he has the exact same problem so it isnt just our exchange its some really big that must have died.

      Yeah same thing here i just connected back at Midnight 'ish. But my router was receiving no ADSL signal at all - meaning no flashing amber light.

      But my exchange in located in the south east

      When the router flashes amber it means its trying to establish a connection.

      Error code 300 - best try plugging the router into the master socket. But when i use to have issues like this (alot worse) i just let the router cool down overnight and it would work in the morning.

      Stevenage has a major outage at its exchange, BT are due on site this morning.

      Thats bizarre cos I've got other friends in Stevenage with working internet and how come my friend using Sky broadband in Welwyn Garden City is having the same problems. He'll be linked to the Welwyn Exchange.

      When I got out of bed this morning at 8am it was still broke and when I checked again at 10am it was all working again.

      It looked like a LCP problem as I was getting a synch but it kept on saying LCP down.
      I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

      Thanks for the replies guys.

      I'm still at work so can't confirm if the connection is up and running. Last night the router showed stats for upload / download, noise and the like, but nothing for DNS servers, IP address etc - the connection / service light was solid amber, with the odd flicker as if polling every now and then.

      It's only impacting some customers and not all customers on the exchange, also Welwyn is suffering the same issue, BT are investigating both exchange faults.
