      You have a very very long line. You wouldn't even get 16MB let alone 8.

      As Monday says, you have a very long line so you are never going to get a very high speed. In saying that, your noise margin and existing connection speed indicate that you could possibly get 3.5 Mbs or better. I am afraid it is a case of keep phoning Sky and ask if you can get put through to the Customer Support Team. Tell the agent in tier 1 that you have done everything they suggest and that you are getting nowhere. It may do no good, but if they still refuse to put you through, ask to speak to a Team Leader or Manager. Explain to him/her that you beleive your line has been wrongly configured when you upgraded to 8Mb as your noise margin is very high.

      You need to find out how far your exchange is away from your house , use samknows exchange mapping engine to generate some details for you. How many sockets are you going through to reach your master socket, have you tried connecting your router directly to your master socket ?
