      Broadband Usage Question

      Hi there

We have recently changed from Tiscali Broadband to Sky (we have the TV, Broadband and phone line package). We have the Base 2MB Broadband with 2GB monthly downloads/usage. What I want to know is, is there a cap so that when you reach 2GB it will stop you from downloading any more or do they let you continue downloading but charge you more money on your bill?

We didn't have this problem with Tiscali because the usage was unlimited so we could download as much as we wanted without having to worry. But now we are going to have to keep an eye on how much we are downloading.

Thanks for your help and time.

      Re: Broadband Usage Question

Hi at the moment you dont have to worry about your usage as Sky have not yet decided to enforce any download caps. If you go over your limits nothing will happen.

      Re: Broadband Usage Question

most isps will send a letter or email after several months of continuous over bandwidth limit asking you to cut down your usage or increase package,

but as said by postmanpat sky at present dont monitor closely usage limits

      Re: Broadband Usage Question

For another fiver you can get up to 40Gb, so why give yourself the worry. I am sure it would still be much cheaper than Tiscali.
