Should i be getting faster speeds?

im on the 8mb connect package, and im happy with the pseed im getting just wondering if i should be getting faster speeds

on the sky router page it says

      Router Statistics

      System Up Time: 0:11:14
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 7579 10373 0 200 0 0:02:15
      LAN 4024 2759 0 0 0 0:11:14
      WLAN 7731 5905 0 0 270 0:10:53
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6624 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 52.0 db 29.0 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 16.0 db
      Poll Interval: (secs)

here it says 6624 downstream but when i do a speed test it comes up

so i was wondering if i should be getting at least 6000kbit/s

the speed test is wired and router plugged into master socket

Re: Should i be getting faster speeds?

I think it is something like 87% of your actual connection speed that you get when you do a speed test.

Try rebooting your router, then post another speed test

      Hope it helps

Thats a very good connection speed for a line that long. How are you connected wired or wireless?

Re: Should i be getting faster speeds?

do you mean that is a amazing connection for that line attenution monday?

52db he should be roughly getting 4-5mb so to reach over 6.5mb that is amazing!!

      must be a nice line!!...

however i thought it was 90% on a speedtest although im not sure...

however i wouldnt worry too much .. seems fine to me

      speedtest.net is not the best

reboot your router after 20 seconds

and try the speedtest linked to this forum... http://www.skyuser.co.uk/tools/speedtester.php

Re: Should i be getting faster speeds?

What is my line length, with an attenuation of 40db and what king of speed would you expect.
