A voice text from SKY?

Today, I receved a voice text from SKY saying somthing like:-
Your sky broadband has been rec-un-secured, if you have any problems with your broadband please call sky technical support 8-4-4-two million ,four hundred and ten thousand, five hundred and fifteen.

Any ideas what this is about?

I have been with sky broadband since june 26th, I was connecting @

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3744 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 60.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.3 db 14.0 db

, but now(since voice text) only as below

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2560 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 60.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 12.7 db 13.0 db

Do I need to call them, to get my speed back?

Re: A voice text from SKY?

Did you call up/email regarding anything?

The number is 08442 41 05 15.

They should really have a think on the voice text, i found the number really confusing.

Yes, I could not open any webpages, I did try restarting my computer. But I phoned tech support, and they told me to switch my windows firewall off, then it worked, I switched it back on, and it still worked, so problem solved.

What does rec-un-secured mean?
Can I get my high speed back?

It was awsome connecting at 3700, and not the 2500 I had with BT and now with SKY.

I see whats happened now.

Sky CST has done an auto regrade on your line. This basically means they have put you on to the speed BT say is the max your line can handle. Now these predictions are a load of bull (But to be fair to BT these predictions were probally made back in the days when 1MEG seemed superfast). Yet Sky still put there hands on there hearts and say that's the best your line can handle.

I have similar stats to you. BT say max my line can handle is 1.5 meg.

Currently have a sync of 3975 down BT.

You need to email sky (Or phone if you have patience) and tell them you were getting speeds of 4 meg and you want to be put back onto those speeds! Be persistent its all about getting through to someone who understands your problem.

Re: A voice text from SKY?

Hmm? I still think its rec-un-secured!
however, rec-unse-duled is a strong favroite.
and reconfigured is a big outsider..
Listen for yourselfs, see what ya think (audio attached)

Anyone know what e-mail address I can contact tech support on, to see if I can get my line back upto speed?
