      Exclamation Help...Asking for M.A.C code

      I am about to ring sky and ask for my mac code. My question is will they charge me extra for leaving their contract early even though I have had terrible service?

      Also how long will it take for them to give me the MAC code because when i was with AOL it took them over 2 weeks which was hell getting it from them in the first place.

      They have to give it to you within 5 working days by law. As for charging you, they are within their rights to, but it's worth asking them if they will drop it.

      Sky are usually quite quick at giving out a MAC once you've made your intentions quite clear.

      AOL and iirc Tiscali are known offenders for dragging their heels when being asked for a MAC. They, and other ISPs, have been slapped on the wrist several times for this bad practice.

      All ISPs get the MAC codes from BT which has its own system problems occasionally and that can introduce a delay in getting your MAC.
