Sky's tech support simply suggested re-booting the router (again) - but with all this talk about DLM etc, I'm wondering what effect this will have

If you are being DLM'd, and I would suspect you are, then they need to get their story straight as I was under the impression that you had to leave your router on all the time and not reboot it.

Re: What is happening - slow speeds again

Just spoken again with tech support - L1, and the helpfull lady informed me that my line is not actually being DLM'd, so now in the queue for L3 to check a few settings... especially as their equipment tested the line up to 21MB, so she can't see why the test is so low.

It has been said many times but bears repeating, the Speedtest.net tester is not dependable. Why not try the SkyUser tester?

Has your sync speed reduced or are you just going by the test?

Re: What is happening - slow speeds again

Well it just goes to show that even these speedtest can be wrong...

Pinging the Sittingbourne server gave me 6.5Mb/s.... Pinging the London server gave me

Seems we shouldn't trust these speed tests as being the definitive means of telling us how good our connection is.

Sync speed as per the stats remains at 16379 download and 764 Up

Like I said, I'll just take these speed tests with a pinch of salt

      Hi Malcom.
You need to be careful you don't ring Sky too often for this, or someone will get the wrong end of the stick and cap/lower your sync speed

Oops, senior moment a little earlier
The amount of times I've posted that speedtest sites are unreliable, I should know better, should have said check your router sync.
