not sure what to do next?

      Hi all

my dlm finished on the 15th of this month,i kept my router on followed all instructions and ended up losing 1.5mb downsync.

before dlm started my line was happy sat at 2400/698 with an acceptable amount of crc errors which would resync my router once every maybe 3 days or so.

dlm ended and i had a sync of 1000/400,and my ping was also high again after having the max delays set to 8.

i phoned up sky on the sunday ,got put straight through to customer solutions and the guy manually set my line back to what it was before...job done.

i got up this morning and my line was at 700/400,understanebly irate i phoned up sky again to be told dlm had started again and there was nothing they could do.

also the ticket which i had been told on sunday would be open for 72 hours had been closed by someone else in sky.

i am at my wits end here,i sat out the 10 days and now have to put up with this??

has anyone any ideas to what i can do,because at the moment im ready to cancel the lot....

      thanks

can't say I've heard of DLM going twice so I'd likely say it hadn't finished in the first place...

you need a decent CST agent to check it all out properly...but try to keep calm as we don't like shouters - it's not our fault!!!

i actually got put through to customer solutions again who told me exactly the same thing, the impression i had was dlm was an ongoing thing with no end if you line disconnected within a period of 3 days and no opt out scheme at present.

WRONG!!! i emailed sky and asked to be removed from DLM testing and be put back on my orignal setting . i got an email the next morning saying the following

I can confirm that the DLM testing on your line is now complete, and that the cap on your line has been removed.

they BS'd you - either you weren't on DLM in the first place (auto regrade perhaps) or it has finished in it's own course...it CANNOT be stopped once in progress, otherwise we'd stop those who didn't want it...

Re: not sure what to do next?

As I understand it DLM does not 'finish' as such, but continues to run on your line, automatically giving your the most stable speed it can handle. Unfortunately, in the case of a line which had a high enough error rate to require rebooting previously, the line will be automatically capped to reduce these errors to avoid rebooting. I don't know if it is possible to 'turn off' DLM once it has completed or even if Sky will do this even if it is.
